America needs honest, unbiased third party news. Actually, America needs unbiased political news, period.
We take two examples of the decayed state of American political news coverage.
The first is the systematic effort to turn third party candidates into unpersons, people who do not exist. Most readers will have seen election reports that give a Republican candidate’s votes, a Democratic candidate’s votes, and an ‘Independent” candidate’s votes, even when the “Independent” was actually a Green, a Libertarian, or an Independent Whig. Then there are the polls that record third party support as ‘undecided’. Your Editor has actually had a pollster do this to me.
This year, Massachusetts has seen more egregious examples of this sort of activity. We have an election for State Treasurer. The actual candidates are Libertarian Cris Crawford and Democrat Deborah Goldberg. Central Massachusetts has one dominant newspaper, the Telegram and Gazette. It publishes an election guide. Its coverage of the Treasurer race read “State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg is running for reelection as a Democrat unopposed.” Then there was the University of Massachusetts Amherst/WCVB poll of the race, which required a footnote to the results: “Cristina Crawford was mistakenly identified as a Republican and we apologize for this oversight.”
The second example is the continuous editorializing in what should have been normal news stories. Compare “…today, former President Trump said…” with “…today, former President Trump repeats his false claims that…”. The first expression is conventional news coverage. The second expression is political propaganda pretending to be conventional news coverage. The propagandists think that they are convincing their readers that Trump lies. However, there is considerable evidence that people who disagree simply close their ears and get their news elsewhere. If the propagandists actually have important news, they have destroyed their ability to reach the American public.
Once upon a time, there was a conventional narrative seen on the three television networks, the three weekly news magazines, and your local newspaper. There was a serious albeit imperfect effort to be sure that the narrative was reasonably accurate. Those times have faded from the scene, so we no longer all live in more or less the same world. Getting back there will be difficult.
Yes, America needs honest, unbiased third party news, and we are here to bring it to you. We’re here to bring it to you in these pages. By and by, we are going to be helping honest Americans bring it to you, by supporting them in launching local newspapers. When there are many voices, the bright light of truth will shine through.

My father used to tell my family. “We are going to hold an unbiased vote. Anyone who dissagrees with me is biased and their vote won’t be counted”.
The other choice:
Mainstream Media Lies Again
“Mary Peltola’s win in Alaska may reignite conservative election anger
“By Jarvis DeBerry, MSNBC Opinion Columnist
“Rep. Mary Peltola, the Democrat who in September was sworn in as the first Alaska Native to serve in Congress, has won a full-time term to that seat, NBC News projects. Peltola prevailed in a three-way race against two Republicans, former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and businessman Nick Begich. ”
Source: https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/mary-peltola-wins-alaska-house-election-2022-midterms-n1300530
It was actually a four-way race, not a three-way race, the first round being:
Mary Peltola DEM* 128,403 48.64%
Sarah Palin GOP 68,178 25.83%
Nick Begich GOP 62,404 23.64%
Chris Bye LIB 4,986 1.89%
The issue may well be, again as this has happened before, one of the former owners of 3PW. We will investigate.
Hey Jim, thanks for bringing that to our attention! We’re looking into what could be triggering that response now. Please email us further information if Malwarebytes gives you a specific file name or error.
Malwarebytes is blocking thirdpartywatch for me. It says the site may contain a trojan.

Very well put, George Phillies. I agree with your analysis and thank you for running the Independent Political Report.
