Donavan Pantke, the Libertarian National Committee Representative for Region 7, passed suddenly, according to news disclosed on the Libertarian National Committee business list on Saturday.
News of Donavan Pantke’s passing became public on Saturday morning through a message sent to the Libertarian National Committee by former LNC Chair Whitney Bilyeu. It is not yet known when Pantke passed.
“It is with extreme and profound sadness, the likes of which cannot compare to that felt by his lovely bride Jocelyn, that I inform you all this morning of the passing of Donavan Pantke,” Bilyeu wrote.
“Donavan was a trusted friend and colleague who never failed to leave me with words of wisdom that echo in my head and heart and always will. He was proud to be a part of this thing we all do together, and I was proud to know him. He will be missed in more ways than each one of us can imagine.”
Upon hearing the news of Pantke’s passing, LNC members were deeply shocked and filled with grief.
“His intellect, candor, and kindness were evident to all who met him,” wrote LNC At-large Representative Steven Nekhaila. Region 2 Representative Dave Benner called Pantke “full of integrity, incredibly smart, and exceeding kind.”
Pantke was initially elected to the Libertarian National Committee as the Region 7 Alternate during the 2022 Libertarian National Convention. Subsequently, he assumed the role of Region 7 Representative, succeeding Linnea Gabbard, who had resigned earlier in the year. In addition to his national involvement, Pantke served as the Chair of the Tarrant County Libertarian Party in Texas.
