Green Party of the United States Seeking Digital Media Coordinator

The Green Party of the United States announced this week that it is hiring a part‑time Digital Media Coordinator to help strengthen the party’s online strategy, messaging, and volunteer engagement efforts.

According to details in a social media post by the party on Friday, August 22, the position was initially introduced as a temporary role but later repurposed into a part-time position. It is intended to support outreach across the various social media platforms used by the Green Party while boosting its fundraising efforts and coordination among its various national committees.

The national party website outlines a “fair and open” hiring process, with the opening to be listed publicly for at least three weeks or until at least three highly qualified candidates are identified before any actions are taken. The coordinator will be paid $20 per hour for up to 16 hours per week, with a three-month trial period.

Responsibilities include creating and scheduling social media posts in line with guidance from the Steering, Media, Fundraising, and Merchandise committees; monitoring online conversations and direct messages; and referring sensitive matters to relevant party officials or volunteers. Additionally, the position involves drafting scripts, producing video content, coordinating surrogate bookings for podcasts and alternative media outlets, and supporting digital fundraising efforts.

The party is seeking candidates who have previous experience as a lead social media content creator for a political advocacy group or campaign, skills in graphic design and video production, and familiarity with managing volunteers. Candidates are additionally asked to include in their cover letter the four social media platforms they feel most proficient with, reasons for their interest in working with the Green Party of the United States, and previous examples of their work. Additional details are available through the national party’s website.
