I just heard from someone that Bob Barr defeated Lee Wrights, of the Mary Ruwart campaign, for a seat on the Libertarian National Committee. The margin of victory was pretty close, apparently Barr won by only two votes.
There’s also talk of some friction within the core members of the Barr-Viguerie group, although it’s totally unconfirmed at this point.
The Ruwart campaign is obviously a little disappointed by their loss, but the close margin must make them feel somewhat better.

Okay, first off …
1) only Angela could get away with referring to her as “the busty” Heather Scott. (she is, but it is by far the least of her attributes, and only another chick could pass with the otherwise “sexist” remark)
2) how did they already do the regional rep thing? usually happens on like Saturday afternoon during a lull …
3) so Flood is the rep, and (s0 far) Barr is Alternate? I predict that will not last, since either (a) Barr wins the nomination, in which case he abdicates this little post, and Heather takes it; or (b) Barr loses the nomination fight, and pulls back entirely from the LP. (either way, congrats to Heather, and let’s get Lee on At Large (assuming he is still deluded enough to think it matters?)
4.) I speak not only as a longtime libertarian and veteran of far too many of these mudfights (75, 77, 78, 81, 83 … and more recently as well) , but as a former LNC regional rep, when Tennessee was in the SouthWEST region (Yes, I repped for Texas, and all them folks)
5) I continue to congratulate myself for not being able or willing to make the trip to Denver this time

In my attempt to be a uniter and not a divider, I must note that Aaron Starr is like a father to me and Starchild is still one amazing piece of ass.
Also, Antiwar.com bought me a new perfume which must be working. Both Brian Holtz and Jon Roland hugged me really hard. The Reformers can be subdued with 50$ worth of chemical sniff.
Bylaws continues and it is just like an LPC meeting. M Carling is offensive. Aaron Starr and Starchild hog the mike making sure that everyone hates my fine looking delegation. Mike Seebeck is handing out fruit to throw.

The Vig speech was barely attended and quite dull. Aaron Starr stood up with the other 4 people who thought such would give it a standing ovation.
