IPR: 50k pages, 10k unique visitors in first 10 days; now on Facebook

If you’re a fan of Independent Political Report, please consider joining our official fan group on Facebook! Trent Hill created this group for us and we’re already up to about 15 members. It’s a great way to spread the word about this site to your friends, as well as to mingle and interact with other readers.

As this site turns ten (days old) I’m also very happy to report that we’re on track with explosive growth! In case you didn’t know, Jason (aka G.E.) founded IPR just last week along with Tom, Trent, and Fred… and I joined in as Publisher a few days later. Since going live, the site has logged over 10,000 unique visitors and served more than 50,000 pageviews. And our live chats during the convention routinely had 40 or more participants in the room.

As many of you know, I was the original founder of Third Party Watch. As such, I can tell you that the level of traffic we’re seeing at IPR probably represents as much traffic and activity as we got during the whole first 6 months of TPW. This has been just amazing.

Thanks so much to all of you for reading!

I agree. Hopefully, the presence of IPR will inspire TPW to be an even better site. This is the way the market works. The consumer wins!

Now we need to work on getting listed in Google News!

Good idea, I’ll work on adding a facebook icon to the site this weekend.

I think it’s important not to get too obsessed with TPW. Both of these sites can exist and thrive side by side. They’re listed in Google News, so trying to “beat them” on a regular basis would be very tough.

But with that said, we actually did have more traffic (pageviews and unique visitors) than they hadyesterday. But whatever… 🙂

My bad. I see the SiteMeter icon on TPW now. It’s at the bottom of the right sidebar. I thought it was at the bottom of the site before. I’m probably wrong. Did not mean to impugn.

It looks like TPW took down their SiteMeter. Maybe I’m just missing it? Earlier today, I checked and we had about 90% as much traffic as they had. Then I checked again, and I can’t find the SiteMeter icon.

“We should probably get a Facebook icon and put it on the main page.”

I’ll second that. Are there myspace groups like this? I’ll set one up if none of you have one, and you can add a Myspace icon as well. The same most politcal campaigns have.

A demand was created. We provided the supply. The market always wins.

Im most impressed by the fact that we pulled so much traffic so quickly. I suppose it was mostly due to the fact that Knapp and GE are pretty well-known in the libertarian blog-world.

We should probably get a Facebook icon and put it on the main page.
