At 8pm tonight it looks like C-SPAN is planning to air something of a preview of the Libertarian Party’s Saturday debate. This is the programming blurb from their website…
David Weigel, Associate Editor for Reason Magazine, discusses the upcoming debate between the Libertarian Party’s presidential contenders. Weigel worked on USA Today and Campaign & Elections before writing about politics for Reason. Watch the Libertarian Convention on C-SPAN this weekend. Watch on C-SPAN at 8pm (ET)
This is just a discussion of the debate, but could make for interesting viewing. I will probably TiVo it and catch up later tonight. The regular convention is scheduled to be covered from 9pm to midnight on Saturday (the debate) and then all-day on Sunday starting at 10:30am Eastern time.

Oh well. I recorded it… maybe I won’t bother watching though.
Instead of a debate preview C-Span asked Weigel for a history of the LP. He stumbled through half an hour sounding inarticulate, confused, and appallingly unprepared.
Some of the candidates were discussed briefly–apparently selected for mention by which names happened to come to mind. But nothing said amounted to a complete sentence
All in all, a waste of time. Too bad C-Span called Reason instead of Liberty. Stephen Cox would have done better.
To be honest, I’m not sure Robert Milne wouldn’t have done better.
