The Party for Socialism and Liberation will be holding a conference this Friday, May 30th, in Los Angeles. Topics range from a national campaign update, to the May 1968 general strike in France, to the recent death of Roketi Su’e, a mentally disabled Long Beach resident:
Su’e, a terminally ill and disabled man, was executed by Long Beach cops last week. Witnesses confirmed that Su’e didn’t do anything wrong. He was face down on the ground, unarmed and shirtless, when the police shot him six times in the head. Hear from Marylou Cabral, PSL candidate for L.A. County Board of Supervisors, District 4. Her campaign is making this unjust, racist murder a major issue by organizing in the Long Beach community.
The conference precedes the upcoming June 3rd California primary in which Cabral joins four other PSL candidates across the state, including two running under the banner of the Peace and Freedom Party. Gloria La Riva, the party’s presidential candidate, is also on the ballot for Peace and Freedom central committee membership, the body that will determine the PFP’s presidential ticket.

Does anyone have news updates regarding the WFP?
Are they making progress across the country?
I presume they would nominate the Democratic ticket where possible.
Good reporting, Fred. You should ask some of these people for an interview.
The PSL split off from the WWP a few years ago. I’m not sure over what, neither side’s offered a reason that I’ve seen.
