Ron Paul on Bob Barr: ‘We’re allies’

Ron Paul discussed Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr in a recent Newsweek interview.

What are your feelings toward [Libertarian nominee] Bob Barr?
We’re pretty friendly. We’re allies, he’s a good friend. He has called me a couple times recently, so it’s very cordial.

Even though he has been targeting your supporters?
I can’t blame him. I’m sure that’s his goal. [Laughs]

In the end, it really isn’t about parties is it?

Paul seems to on the right track…though I won’t see any possibility he can do much within the R framework, that’s his choice, isn’t it?

As long as the goal is liberty I don’t give hoot what party you are in.

We CAN work together, as individuals, without regard to the party affiliation choices each of us makes.

Parties are creatures of the State, and those of us who advocate liberty never should forget that.

No matter the party, they attract parasites…long live the parasite free advocates of liberty. 🙂

Paul speaks positively of Barr, Baldwin and Ruwart in this Antiwar Radio interview. He also says he’s unlikely to endorse.

I don’t have the vid, however when questioned during the campaign Ron self-described himself a “constitutionalist”. As most know he has been a lifetime LP member for over 20 yrs.

I think he hopes both the CP and LP do well as it will build on the movement he’s been promoting for over 30 yrs…

Imho this would seem to be a very good thing for Barr? Has Congressman Paul said anything abt Rev. Baldwin?

In my state, WA, there is an on going battle in the state GOP leading up to this years convention between the state party establishment and the Paulians. As is going on in many states and local parties from what I read? This sort of talk from Paul would seem to suggest his supporters have options in Nov?
