There is no possible way Ventura would ever consider voting for Baldwin.

Neocon? I’ve read a few of Franken’s books, and he is a man willing to speak truth to power. That, more than anything else, is why I like him so much. Sure, I don’t agree with him 100% of the time, or probably 75% of the time, but that’s no reason to hate him. And remember, I’m no libertarian.
Just going on t.v. to announce you won’t run makes you an attention whore? Should he have just passed by the registration date for everyone to silently assume he’d not run?

Mike Theodore, “A running mate has to be compliant on the issues that the candidate supports.” That is so-20th century. TR might have won if he picked a progressive democrat running mate. If the p & vp agreed to disagree on many things in order to be as inclusive as possible, that would be fusion. That could WIN.
I just don’t mind him over Coleman. But now I sense Coleman will win. It always seems to work that way.

I’ve made several suggestions for a progressive alliance ticket. I’ve said many times it doesn’t have to be me. But I would like a paid position as Special Advisor to what could very possibly be a winning ticket. My interest is winning.

Damn. I was hoping he’d run. However, I totally sympathize with his reasoning. The media and political enemies tear you apart limb from limb and you feel this need to hold your tongue and go against your better judgment to lash out. I went through that crap myself on a local level. It can be overwhelming at times. To survive, you have to get a really thick skin.

Do you remember Perot dropping out and then coming out back before November? That killed his credibility a bit.
Wikipedia: “Lacking a party base in the Minnesota House and Senate, Governor Ventura’s vetoes were often overridden.” This is exactly the reason the Progressive Alliance Strategy calls for vote coordination of Green and Libertarian downticket candidates. Ventura evidently identifies as a libertarian. He could very well be a left-libertarian, just like I believe Teddy Roosevelt was. & I believe I am. It is the most radical position as it is in the overlap area of left and right.

I’m disappointed that he won’t run and challenge the two party system in Minnesota.
But I’m even more disappointed that he keeps talking as though McCain and Obama are the only choices for president. I wish he would endorse/support a third party candidate

Trent Hill, he cited personal reasons involving his family and negative publicity. However, if he files tomorrow, he will have gotten that much more publicity than he otherwise would have. So, possible.
It’s not like Ventura would’ve wrenched the Senate apart. He was remarkable because of his interest in attention and his lack of a major party label.
Maybe the LP guy will do better now.
