In Springfield, Missouri, the Greene County Libertarian Party is questioning Springfield City Utillities’ possible use of eminent domain laws, to aquire land for a new bus transfer station.
Keith Rodgers, the party chairman, said that there are proper times for eminent domain to be used, but the situation at hand is not one of them. He also said, “City Utilities is being given too much authority, and in this case using such power violates the principles of liberty of property ownership and of sound business practices.”
