David McReynolds: The Long Strange Posthumous Life of Leon Trotsky

In a guest column at Slack Bastard blog, former Socialist
Party presidential candidate David McReynolds provides an article and analysis about the history of American socialism. Of possible interest to some IPR comment readers, it mentions the Catholic Trotskyist Party of America and Protestant Stalinist Party, and links to my previous reporting on these parties at IPR.

Thanks to the Chairman of the Catholic Trotskyist Party of America for sending the link to contact.ipr@gmail.com

Fascinating article McReynolds has written about the American socialist and communist left and especially the course of sects of the Trotskyists. Very good read. Cheers to its author.

Thanks for acknowledging the first true influence of the Catholic Trotskyist Party on the political dialogue. Some may be tempted to conclude that David McReynolds is actually the true chairman of the Catholic Trotskyist Party; however, this is not the case, and I do not believe that he was involved in the Protestant Stalinist Party either. The Protestant Stalinist Party was actually most likely founded by a libertarian in an unsuccessful attempt to trick the labor unions and the proletariate into returning to their anarchist roots. However, it had to give up because their minarchist and anarchist wings split up. I note that McReynolds decided not to mention the Maoist Scientology Party. I guess his attention to silliness could only go so far.
