Rob McNealy running for Congress in Colorado’s 6th as a Libertarian

The following press release is from the McNealy campaign:

AURORA, CO, March 27th, 2010 – Rob McNealy, Libertarian candidate for Colorado’s 6th Congressional
District is proud to announce that he earned the Libertarian Party of Colorado’s nomination for CD6 at their annual convention on  March 20th, 2010.
Rob McNealy will face off against Democrat challenger John Flerlage and Republican incumbent Mike Coffman.
McNealy said, “I am excited to win the nomination and support of the Libertarian Party of Colorado which shares my philosophy of smaller government, personal liberty and fiscal responsibility.  I look forward to challenging Mike Coffman and John Flerlage in November.  ”
McNealy’s answers to a candidate survey from the Colorado Tenth Amendment Center were recently published online.  An excerpt is published below.
Describe in your own words, what is the 10th Amendment, and what does it do?
It enumerates that fact the Federal power is subservient to the States’ power.

What federal law (or proposal) do you believe is the greatest violation of the
principles of the 10th?

There are so many.  If I had to choose, the Federal Reserve Act.

What current public figure (politician or other), best represents the founders’
vision of the 10th Amendment – and why?
Ron Paul.  He is the only person in Congress with integrity.

McNealy was also, in the recent past, a leader in an initiative campaign against funding local public libraries in Aurora, Colorado.  He was quoted in a local newspaper about this:

Rob McNealy of Citizens for Responsible Aurora Government, which campaigned against the initiatives to save the libraries last fall, said he would like to see the libraries reopen.

McNealy said his group thought the city should cut the budget in other places instead of closing libraries, but because the libraries are now closed, the city may need to consider selling the properties.

“Something needs to be done with it,” said McNealy, who is running for U.S. Congress as a Libertarian. “Either the city should figure out a way to reopen the library and provide the services to this community as per what the community wants and what the city can afford, or they need to divest themselves of idle assets.”

Here’s one to make you proud…

How about a sensational and very heated Green Party interview….

    HOT>>>

    Upset….Throwing the….TRUTH…around …swinging it like a righteous sledghammer…

    The Green Party’s McKinney…at Green Party Watch…

“We are ruled not by two parties but one party,” Cynthia McKinney, who ran for president on the Green Party ticket, told me. “It is the party of money and war. Our country has been hijacked. And we have to take the country away from those who have hijacked it. The only question now is whose revolution gets funded.”…

“It is time for us to stop talking about right and left,” McKinney told me. “The old political paradigm that serves the interests of the people who put us in this predicament will not be the paradigm that gets us out of this. I am a child of the South. Janet Napolitano tells me I need to be afraid of people who are labeled white supremacists but I was raised around white supremacists. I am not afraid of white supremacists. I am concerned about my own government. The Patriot Act did not come from the white supremacists, it came from the White House and Congress. Citizens United did not come from white supremacists, it came from the Supreme Court. Our problem is a problem of governance. I am willing to reach across traditional barriers that have been skillfully constructed by people who benefit from the way the system is organized.”
