Missouri Progressive Party petitioning for ballot status in 2010

Posted by Dave Schwab at Green Party Watch:

From Richard Winger at Ballot Access News:

The Missouri Green Party, which is not ballot-qualified, is petitioning for party status this year. That petition needs 10,000 signatures and is due in late July. If the petition drive succeeds, the Green Party will be able to nominate by convention for any partisan race. In Missouri, the name of the Green Party is “Progressive Party.”

To date at least 2 candidates are planning to run for office with the Missouri Progressive Party, Midge Potts for US Senate and Nicholas Ivan Lavendorf for US House of Representatives (MO-7).

    Excelllent Green Party news..

    Thank You..

Green Party candidates Midge Potts and

    Nicholas Ivan Lavendorf are outstanding..

All the money people can send them would of course be an enormous help for the petition drive.

Thanks to these brave Green Party patriots…

This new pProgressive party & Carl Milsted’s “new upper left party” WILL NOT WORK. They are in direct competition with the Green & Libertarian parties.& they tend to split the inclusive progressive/radical/revolutionary vote. Rather coordinate & maximize & ADD the Green & Libertarian vote. PLAS/FET/FDS.

Will Firedoglake support Green Party candidates?

A provocative post at Firedoglake’s Seminal blog asking the question “Will FDL support Green Party candidates in 2010 and 2012?” has whipped up an energetic discussion.

Firedoglake is a popular political blog often cited for its principled progressive positions. A recent Green Party US press release on the recently-passed health care legislation quoted Firedoglake blogger Jane Hamsher’s opposition to the bill.

“I am getting fed up with the people blaming tea party folks for everything. If the folks who keep saying they are all bad got their facts straight, it would be different. ”

“People holding pre-printed signs aren’t tea party folks. They are plants from other groups. They don’t want the truth to come to light.”

“I am sure there are some folks who say things that aren’t right. The people who yell the stuff out aren’t always tea party folks. Why can’t the media find out before they print the stories? I forgot — they are on the Democrats’ side. Why not get the truth and then print it?”

You should probably read articles before commenting on them. If you had read this one, you’d know that in Missouri the Progressive Party is the Green Party.

Or, rather, it is the Missouri affiliate of the Green Party of the United States. Missouri’s Greens split a few years ago, and there are at least three Green groups in St. Louis — Two Rivers Greens, which (affiliated with the Progressive Party), Gateway Greens (I’m not sure if they’re affiliated with any national organization), and the legal Green Party, which has one committeeperson elected under Missouri’s political party organization laws, and ballot access in St. Louis City.

  6. Mid West has the three biggest quakes in USA history......... Lake

What does that have to do with any thing ???????? Because none of them are willing and able to print signs? I’ve printed my own signs for demonstrations before, it’s not especially difficult.

I think I used Word for Windoze and then blew them up to poster size at Kinko’s. Total investment less than 20 minutes and less than 20 dollars for a couple of laminated poster-sized printed signs on sticks.
