| U.S Senate Candidate John Mertens will speak at the Watertown Independent Party Town Committee Meeting on April 27, at 7 pm. The meeting will be held at the Community Meeting Room on the first floor of the Thomaston Savings Bank, 565 Main Street, Watertown, CT. The meeting is free and open to the public. Mertens is a Professor of Engineering at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and also teaches courses in public policy and environmental science. He became the first candidate in the country to earn a 2010 ballot line for U.S. Senate at the Connecticut for Lieberman Party statewide caucus on January 13th. Hello Ross,
I’ve been in close contact with the chairs of the Green and Libertarian Parties. I will be attending both party conventions. If they decide to petition onto the ballot for U.S. Senate, I will seek their nominations, but at this point in time it seems unlikely.
