Wow, your ignorance is amazing ……….
[Lake: As brutal, unfair, or even criminal the global impact of our government has been in the past; We should not or CAN NOT cure the world’s ills with less than 10% of the planet’s population, resources and or land mass. Them is facts folks!]
Anti-migration laws are by definition anti-liberty ……… [Lake: as exampled by the Republic of Mexico’s grossly anti foreigner official policy and unofficial thugdom!]
……. “Invasion” of gardeners, maids and construction workers?
[Lake: Get real. Work experience better left to fat, lazy assed, game boy addicted teens that already live here. Not every one should be forced to run marathon or do triathlons as a young adult, but the reality of well to do young Americans lounging around in MacManions while foreigners dust and mow all around them. Shameful and uneconomical!]
Yeah, you go ahead and try to end benefits for everyone. Watch who fights it the hardest. It’ll be latino, hispanic, and immigrant “rights” groups, as if there were much differentiating between them these days anyway.
Wow, your ignorance is amazing.
Immigrants work harder for less and get fewer so called benefits than those born in the US.
Get rid of the “benefits” for everyone.
Anti-migration laws are by definition anti-liberty.
“Invasion” of gardeners, maids and construction workers? Get real.
This is a country of immigrants, it was built by waves of immigrants since its start. And that has not changed.
Immigration laws are not anti liberty. I am losing liberty because we are immigrating more people whose idea of liberty is to take what others have built, earned or bought.
That is called an invasion
Since I’m not working today, I decided to read a few IPR comments. The author of the article I linked is not a Democrat. He is a classical liberal; he does not use the term libertarian, which he used to use, because he doesn’t like the Barr/Root brand of libertarianism which he believes has come to define the LP.
Also, there is nothing “fair” about adopting the immigration laws of Mexico. The fact that some countries have anti-liberty laws is not a reason for other countries to have anti-liberty laws. However, it is a fact that Mexico has far less money, equipment and agents for immigration law enforcement than the US does. In that respect they are more free. Last time I was in Mexico, there were also far fewer places where I needed an ID. That also makes (or made, if it has changed) them more free in at least that respect.
By the way; #18 was @ #16
And Mr Grundmann,
I don’t believe we should hold mexico up as a shining example for proper immigration policy, as I’m sure whatever is written and practiced by them is as corrupt as any other policy or practice chiseled into their “guidelines”.
Until that country and its’ people stop their hypocritical, devious, and slovenly ways, they should be treated as a non entity.
We’re too far apart in our ideologies to debate the issues. There’s no point to it.
Mr. Rodrigues – A) I agree with your analysis in comment #13. It is quite correct. B) Your comment in #15 was also quite correct but far too kind. The article author is an absolute nitwit who, being a Democrat, screeches the party line that every ill of the world is due to the Republican Party and convienently forgets that Bill Clinton ( self-proclaimed friend of the working man and leader of the self-proclaimed working persons party that ALWAYS claims to represent working people ) signed NAFTA; the job killing bill extrordinaire that continues to massacre American jobs to this second. C) I propose that we adopt the immigration laws of Mexico ( fair is fair, right?? ) as follow –
New Immigration Laws: Read to the bottom or you will miss the message…
1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.
2. All ballots will be in this nation’s language.
3. All government business will be conducted in our language.
4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they
are here.
5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office.
6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food
stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any
burden will be deported.
7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at
least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners come here and buy land… options will be restricted.
Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens
naturally born into this country.
9. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a
foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or
his policies. These will lead to deportation.
10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted
&, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All
assets will be taken from you.
Too strict ?
The above laws are current immigration laws of MEXICO !

You read it? Very surprising.
What part of it is not self-evidently true? I don’t see a single word that any logical person could conceivably disagree with.
Not everything “the American people” wish for is good…whether it be segregation, McCarthyite witch hunts, literal witch hunts back in the Salem days, or many other examples.
The DREAM act would have been good for America, but doing away with immigration limits would be even better.
I did read it; it’s highly biased drivel written by someone who wishes to blame the republican party for the wishes of the American people.
You guys are wearing out the hate card. Always crying wolf
@13 clearly didn’t read the link @10
The DREAM act has not been defeated; it’s been contained, but probably not for long.
The republicans just didn’t want to give the credit to the dems. Once the republicans get more power next year, they will rewrite it a little, making it more complimentary of the military requirement, and less likely to import the voters that threaten the party, although the latter is probably less a consideration at this point.
It’ll be back. Any celebration now is merely token. It is a step in the right direction alright….but not for America. It’s a good size nail in gallows that is being built for America’s demise.
Cody Banks, with even less ……..
And Don Lake with none, especially when his website looks like shit.
wrap the toilet paper tighter Don.
Agreed with Paulie; the Dream Act would have been a step in the right direction.
See

And extrapolate…
IMO the DREAM act would have been a step in the right direction. 415-690-6352 if you wish to discuss.

– That’s right Don, you don’t.
America’s Independent Party is the fake conservative party founded by the conservative mole Alan Keyes whose corruption is documented at TheCorruptionOfAlanKeyes.blogspot.com.

Where have you been Red?
Too bad they’re nothing outside of California.
Then again, even in Cali, they barely have any presence at all.
America’s Independent Party is the fake conservative party of Alan Keyes, the foremost mole within the conservative movement. His corruption is documented at TheCorruptionOfAlanKeyes.blogspot.com. The party is meant to dissipate and render useless the energies of conservatives so that Keyes allies within the ADL and the SPLC can gain victory in the destruction of our nation.
