Darrell Castle on the Effect of Gun Control Measures on Gun Violence

In his latest podcast, posted online on June 14th, Darrell Castle talks about a Department of Justice memo in which researchers investigated the effect of gun control measures on gun violence. Castle was the Constitution Party’s vice-presidential nominee in 2008 and is considering seeking the CP’s nomination for president in 2016. A draft movement has been started on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DarrellCastle2016?fref=ts.

Haven’t actually watched the video, but in the youtube screencap (or whatever that is called), between Mr. Castle’s stern face and that castle with the cross and flag, I get the impression that he is about to “get medieval” on someone 🙂

In the title, it should be “effect” rather than “affect.” “Effect” is a noun, “affect” is a verb.

While there are points on which we may differ, I suspect that Constitution Party candidates will find something useful as a tool for berating Republican opponents. The Republican majority in the House recently voted an abortion restriction, without a rape and incest exemption. The message then went forward. There was a further reconciliation/rules/etc process. The Republican House leadership used the further process, I gather without telling its members, reinserted the rape/incest exemption. Other readers may have more precise details, but we have here a fine example of the Republican Party establishment thwarting the wish of the Republican House majority.

Details appeared a few days ago on Daily Kos.
