Dear Members and Friends of Liberty,
Thanks to the members of the Libertarian Party of Alabama who attended the convention and business meeting. We have been experiencing a time of significant growth and the organization appears to be headed in a positive direction.
June 8, 2013 – LPA State Convention – The Libertarian Party of Alabama elected new leaders at their annual convention in Birmingham, Alabama. Leigh LaChine, a Birmingham resident, is now serving at the party’s State Executive Committee Chair. Mr. LaChine had previously served as the Vice Chair on the State Executive Committee and is the managing member of an environmental consulting firm.
LaChine replaces former State Chair Mark Bodenhausen, who did not seek reelection. “Mark has done an incredible amount of work to make the Libertarian Party of Alabama what it is today,” said LaChine. “We are very grateful for the foundation and infrastructure that he has created. Additionally, I would to thank our presenters, Mike Rster, Igor Gembitsky, Christina Tobin, Danny Bedwell, and Chair of the Libertarian National Committee, Geoff Neale.”
Other members newly elected to the State Executive Committee were Aaron Watkins as Vice Chair, Christopher Allen as Secretary, Ross Lowe as Treasurer, and Crissy Brown as Director of Outreach. Jim Albea was elected to an At-Large Representative with Jennifer Mcgowen serving as an additional At-Large Representative.
