Green Party’s Nancy Wade Hits Rep. Quigley Over Trans-Pacific Partnership

Green Party candidate for Congress from the 5th CD in Illinois, Nancy Wade, is making an issue over her opponent’s silence on the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal. Rep. Mike Quigley has not only refused to take a position on TPP, he has also refused to join fellow bi-partisan legislators insisting that Congress get to approve the potentially devastating international trade agreement as Constitutionally required.

The reason the TPP trade agreement between 13 Pacific Rim nations is ‘potentially’ devastating is because the entire agreement has been written and negotiated in secret. It’s said that of the 13 countries participating, only 2 from each country have been allowed to see the agreement. That’s only 26 people on Earth that know what’s in the notorious trade deal.

For that reason, and the fact that every international trade treaty over the past 30 years has hurt the US, a bi-partisan tidal wave of opposition led by unions, environmentalists and libertarians has mounted to stop the TPP deal from arbitrarily becoming law.
