In a Washington Post article titled “The presidential debate commission is getting ready for a serious 3rd party candidate” by Callum Borchers, published earlier today (14 JAN 2016), CPD Co-Chair, and former Bill Clinton Press Secretary, Michael McCurry is quoted as saying:
“The dynamic in the electorate right now and the dissatisfaction with the two major political parties could very conceivably allow an independent or a third-party candidate to emerge, and we are very clear that they would be welcome in these debates.”

They’d love to have a third establishment candidate who spends hundreds of millions to get 15% in the polls included, yes.
What about the part where third party candidates are not included in the polling?
Third Party candidates are welcome…so long as they are not from a party that is third.
An interesting bit of trivia. Mike McCurry is a cousin of former LPF State Chair, J. J. McCurry. J. J. is married to Michigan State Chair, Kim Moore McCurry and currently serves on the National Convention Committee.
Root will never try again. He knows that his odds, if he tried to get the LP nomination, are actually higher against getting it than they would be of winning the general election if he were our nominee!
There is no chance in hell of Root getting the nomination.
There’s actually a chance in hell of an LP candidate winning.
The 15 percent “requirement” seems to be more their whim than a hard-and-fast objective policy. Could be changed at any moment for any, or no, reason.
Too bad That it is looking more and More Like Both Green and Libertarian candidates will get the “Green and Libertarian 1-2”
And if it isn’t Gary or Mcafee, I may be being Generous…
Heck, If Trump doesn’t get it, I’d give -105 that Root Comes Crawling back.. To try.
Does Anyone know how to get ahold of Daniel Imperiato?
…but the 15% polling requirement remains. The statement is without substance.
