Dr. Jill Stein of the Green Party Advocates for Medical Marijuana

jill stein

This was sent to me from the Jill Stein 2016 campaign.

Jill 2016
Dear Jill —

As a medical doctor and public health advocate, people ask me all the time if marijuana is dangerous.

Yes, marijuana is dangerous – because it’s illegal. It’s not inherently dangerous. It’s certainly less harmful than alcohol and tobacco, which are perfectly legal.

The real danger of marijuana is the violence of the underground drug economy created by prohibition.

Legalizing marijuana will end that violence, much like ending alcohol prohibition ended the violence of the illegal alcohol economy.

Join my call to legalize marijuana nationwide!

Yes, legalize it. It’s time to take marijuana off the black market, end crime and violence related to marijuana trafficking, stop wasting money and ruining lives by prosecuting victimless crimes, reduce prison populations, increase tax revenue, allow sick people their medicine, let farmers grow marijuana and hemp, and give responsible adults their freedom by legalizing it! And give businesses similar to pg group michigan the opportunity to grow and thrive within society.

As President, one of my first actions would be to order the DEA and the Justice Department to cease and desist all attempts to harass or prosecute medical marijuana clinics or other legitimate marijuana-related businesses that are operating under state laws.

I would also direct DEA to remove marijuana from Schedule 1, the most dangerous category of drugs, and place it in a more appropriate category as determined by medical science.

Twenty-four states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form. Four states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for recreational use. With the legalization of marijuana finding where to purchase marijuana an online dispensary canada is a good place to look since it has been looking at legalizating it for not only medical but also recreational use.

Since the first retail marijuana stores opened on January 1st, 2014, the state of Colorado has benefited from a decrease in crime rates, a decrease in traffic fatalities, an increase in tax revenue and economic output from retail marijuana sales, and an increase in jobs.

And hundreds of thousands of patients suffering from chronic pain and cancers are benefiting from the availability of medical marijuana and high cbd seeds under state laws.

Like Colorado, we can regulate marijuana in a similar way to alcohol once it’s legal.

This would prevent billions of dollars in profits from pouring into the black market, and would greatly reduce the violence associated with illegal marijuana sales, including the drug wars ravaging Mexico and Central America.

It just makes sense – sign and share my call to legalize marijuana nationwide today!

Make no mistake, ending marijuana prohibition would be a huge win for freedom and social justice, and a major step towards the just, Green future we deserve.

It’s in our hands!

Technically they’re on in four states, but the Mississippi affiliate doesn’t play nice with national and the New York affiliate is overrun with Republicans.

How many states does the Reform Party still have a ballot line in? Last time I heard it was four or five, but that’s been awhile.

Well, this is a titillating rumor. Who could it be? Robinson or Rhett Smith? Reid? Or the candidate who changes parties like underwear, Shawna Sterling?

Rumor has it the Reform Party may nominate a candidate currently running for the Libertarian nomination. Stay tuned for details.

“I hereby declare that if Austin Petersen becomes the LP candidate (which I think is very unlikely), I’ll be supporting her.”

In the event of Mr. Petersen’s unlikely nomination, I too will likely support Dr. Stein, although I will consider Mr. Castle, who I consider a cut above most Constitution Party candidates.

THC isn’t a separate substance from the cannabinoids. It’s one of them.

sl: “She made the distinction between the THC, which is the more psychedelic chemical that gives you a “high” and the Cannabinoids (CBD) which actually do have a use in our brain. we have receptors for them.”

We have a receptor for THC as well. In the early 1990’s, it was discovered that THC activates a receptor that is intended for a chemical they named “anandamide” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anandamide That receptor is actually much more easily activated than by anandamide, because THC is already folded into a close-to-ideal configuration.

The invasion of personal freedom to control one’s own diet and medical treatment by government-backed corporate special interests is one of the great crimes and tragedies of the post-modern epoch. Many who call themselves libertarian, liberal, progressive or conservative have drunk the “government knows best” Kool-Aid. Where does Stein stand on personal freedom to refuse vaccinations? On the right of personal access to a freed market for health care, regulated under the principle of informed consent by civil action in an unbiased and independent justice system?

It should be pointed out that the Constitution Party’s candidate for President, Darrell Castle, also favor legalizing marijuana, and calling off the War on Drugs in general.

I was actually listening to a story on NPR (National Public Radio) and they were interviewing a Neuroscientist about Marijuana and it’s uses and effects on the brain. She made the distinction between the THC, which is the more psychedelic chemical that gives you a “high” and the Cannabinoids (CBD) which actually do have a use in our brain. we have receptors for them. She was talking about how using the CBDs can help with many diseases like epilepsy and can even be used safely on children in controlled doses. She said they are working on breeding a strain of Cannabis that is higher in the CBDs than the THC.

They are even starting to seriously do research with LSD. If only Timothy Leary were alive to see that his legacy and research is actually being taken seriously. Our ancestors used nature for their medicine. The Maya culture was rich with knowledge about the plants in the rain forest. That is what John McAfee was doing in the jungle in Belize. Trying to find plants in the rain forest that could be used topically to heal wounds and anything else bacterial. Sadly the research stopped when his head researcher quit. I wish more people were committed to looking back in human history for cures and treatments rather than the Big Pharma companies making millions.

I’ve said this before on IPR that I really like Dr. Stein. Too bad she’s wrong about so many things when she’s right about other things.

I hereby declare that if Austin Petersen becomes the LP candidate (which I think is very unlikely), I’ll be supporting her.
