Just saw this… wanted to offer a slightly belated happy birthday, Fernando! Hope it was a good one.

I got around to reading the LP News I got in the mail a month or two ago over the weekend.

Was funny in hindsight to see Joe Bishop-Henchman’s “From the Chair” article.

I was cleaning up my old bookmarks and found several 2016 posts with comments of interest but when I followed the links, just got “Error establishing a database connection”. Also searched one of them by title and no response. So does IPR keep all old copies, or just those that somehow manage to survive…

    Thanks.

Austin- will the problem with the lengthy delay between posting and having the post actually appear ever be resolved? Thanks.

Carol — The site was off-line because of a database error, it appears to have been resolved. The archives should be working.

NF — I’m going to be changing hosts in the next several weeks, hopefully that will allow me to fix the posting delay.

I had hoped to have all of this done a few months back but I was sidetracked with another project.

If you are not logged in, you will get a stale cache version of the site. When the cache refreshes then any activity between the most current refresh and the last refresh will finally display. If you are logged in, you will get the real-time version of the site(i.e. new posts and comments will show up immediately), but the site then is extremely slow and prone to database connection error issues.

Austin Cassidy: Thanks for response. I checked again yesterday. One was back up and the other wasn’t. So I’ll probably try again in a few weeks. I may have saved them way back then anyway.

Things have been hit or miss the last few days in terms of connectivity, but we are migrating the entire site to a new server soon. It is my hope that will resolve all of these issues.
