Twitter has taken action to remove a tweet shared by the Libertarian Party of Kentucky that sided with Kyle Rittenhouse amid the ongoing and racially-charged murder trial.
On August 25, 2020, amid the unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, after the police shooting of Jacob Blake, Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old from Antioch, Illinois, shot and killed two men and wounded another man in the arm during confrontations at two locations.
Rittenhouse was arrested and charged with multiple counts of homicide and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire quickly jumped in to offer a defense of the Kentucky Party’s original tweet. They went on to state: “The only permitted opinion is that you ought to stand by and clap as communists burn your neighborhood.”
Twitter has locked the account of the Kentucky LP until it agrees to delete the offending tweet.
“We prohibit content that condones or celebrates acts of violence that could promote imitation of the act,” Twitter’s message to the Libertarian Party of Kentucky read. “We also prohibit the glorification of mass murders or genocides when protected categories have been the primary target or victims. Glorifying the perpetrators of such violence is also prohibited.”

Since when does accepting an accused person’s trial defense amount to “glorifying mass murder or genocide” (Evidently,Twitter censors don’t know what any of those words mean.), and since when are convicted violent felons a “protected category” on social media?
What utter BS.
Twitter’s message to the Libertarian Party of Kentucky read. “We also prohibit the glorification of mass murders or genocides when protected categories have been the primary target or victims.
So, does Twitter permit “the glorification of mass murders or genocides” when the primary targets or victims do not belong to “protected categories”?
