No Labels, the bipartisan group currently exploring the possibility of fielding a joint ticket for the 2024 election cycle, has decided to cancel its planned in-person convention in Dallas, Texas, scheduled for next spring. Instead, the organization will host a virtual event.
According to a recent report by Axios, the decision by No Labels leadership to move to a virtual convention is a way to provide the organization with additional flexibility and time to assess a third party challenge further.
Even with no in-person convention, No Labels states it will continue pursuing ballot access in multiple states and asserts it will be a viable option in at least 27 of them by the end of the year. It’s also reported that No Labels has contemplated a minimum donation of “at least $100” to be eligible to cast a ballot at the convention.
The ultimate objective of No Labels remains the creation of a unity ticket capable of securing an “outright” victory in the Electoral College.
