Rage Against the War Machine Announces “Defeat the Deep State” Rally

Organizers of Rage Against the War Machine, a collaborative anti-war rally between the Libertarian Party and the People’s Party that took place earlier this year, have announced plans for a second event next February.

“It’s time folks. Join us for Rage Part 2. It’s time to #DefeatTheDeepState!” the Rage Against the War Machine account posted on X Sunday afternoon. Libertarian National Committee Chair Angela McArdle also publicized the event on her official X account.

In February of this year, supporters of Rage Against the War Machine gathered at the Lincoln Memorial to call for an immediate cessation of U.S. funding for the war in Ukraine and to advocate for negotiations leading to a ceasefire. Additionally, the organizers urged the disbandment of NATO and a significant reduction in the Pentagon’s budget, among other things.

This upcoming event, scheduled for February 17, 2024, will continue the work of the earlier rally and will also take place outside the Lincoln Memorial.

This time, organizers are demanding the abolition of several government agencies, including the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Security Agency, and the Department of Homeland Security. They are also calling for the dissolution of institutions such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the “Military Industrial Complex,” and the “Corporate State.”

At present, the Rage Against the War Machine website lists only two event sponsors: the Libertarian Party and the People’s Party. These sponsors are the organization’s original co-founders and prominent figures from last year’s anti-war rally. As of the publication of this article, no official public speakers have been announced.

It will be interesting to see how much money is raised for this rally and how that affects LNC fundraising.
