Two New England socialist parties are meeting in Massachusetts this February for a panel discussion on the upcoming 2024 election cycle and beyond. In addition to the two parties, the event is also expected to feature representatives from other socialist organizations who will share their perspectives.
In an email received by Independent Political Report from the Workers Party of Massachusetts, the upcoming event, titled “Socialists and Elections: Perspectives on 2024 and Beyond,” is set to occur at the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy, Massachusetts. The discussion panel is currently scheduled for Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM EST.
A provided link to its official Facebook page further confirms that the Workers Party of Massachusetts is cohosting the panel with the Socialist Party of Southern New Hampshire, although more are expected to participate.
The Workers Party of Massachusetts is an independent statewide socialist organization unaffiliated with any larger organization, although it follows the ideological tenets of revolutionary socialism. The party initially formed in 2020 and fields local and statewide candidates in Massachusetts. It is currently fielding a candidate against Senator Elizabeth Warren.
The Socialist Party of Southern New Hampshire is a chartered regional affiliate of the Socialist Party USA, one of the successors of the original Socialist Party of America that split off in 1973.

The number of completely powerless Socialist Parties, most without ballot access anywhere, is the fate they soon face based on the number of disaffiliations, splits, etc. as the reactionaries revolt from the democratic election of the incompetent mises caucus to leadership roles.
