Forward Party of Pennsylvania Announces Candidates for Attorney General and State Treasurer

On Tuesday, the Forward Party of Pennsylvania announced that it will field two candidates for statewide office later this year. Both candidates will openly run as members of the Forward Party.

In a press release issued by the Forward Party of Pennsylvania and published on PR Newswire, the party announced that it had selected Montgomery County attorney and former Republican Eric Settle to run for Attorney General and former Allegheny County Democrat Chris Foster for Treasurer. According to Christian Fyke, Chair of the Forward Party of Pennsylvania, the party also hopes to use the campaigns of Settle and Foster to help it gain official party recognition in Pennsylvania, allowing for more Forward candidates to run in the future.

The two candidates were unveiled at separate campaign events held on opposite sides of Pennsylvania. In Pittsburgh, Foster was introduced alongside Forward Party Co-Chair Andrew Yang, while Settle was accompanied in Philadelphia by Co-Chair Christine Todd Whitman.

A third event, where both candidates will appear together, is planned for later in the afternoon in Harrisburg. Forward Party CEO Lindsey Drath will also attend.

The party previously hinted at fielding two candidates for statewide office earlier in the month, mentioning on its website that candidate launches for March 26 were planned in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. However, no further information was provided until Tuesday afternoon.
