Reform Party Endorses Two Congressional and Local Candidates, Considering Several Others

The Reform Party of the United States announced this week that it is endorsing at least two candidates this election cycle in addition to the presidential campaign of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The party is also considering supporting several others.

In a press release sent to Independent Political Report on Tuesday, the Reform Party formally stated it is backing independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom it first endorsed last month, along with at least one congressional candidate and a municipal city candidate. The party said it is also open to endorsing several other congressional candidates but has not yet made a decision.

The party endorsed Kennedy’s presidential campaign earlier in May at its national convention, planning to place him on the party’s Florida ballot line. Kennedy’s nomination was not initially on the meeting agenda, but members amended the agenda to include it that same day.

According to the release, the party anticipates resuming state operations and having ballot access restored in Florida by next week. The party first filed to regain its ballot access in Florida early last month and does not currently have ballot access elsewhere.

Alongside a presidential ticket, the party is supporting Tony Jones, a municipal official and former school board member running for Narragansett City Council in Rhode Island. Additionally, it favors Ron Tupa, a Unity Party candidate running in Colorado’s seventh congressional district.

The party is also considering endorsing Robby Wells in Virginia’s sixth congressional district; Dennis Kucinich in Ohio’s seventh congressional district; and Katrina Nguyen in Colorado’s fifth congressional district. All three congressional candidates under consideration are independents.
