Green Party presidential candidate Jasmine Sherman is hosting a live 24-hour fundraising event on social media this weekend to raise money for ballot access. The event is part of a larger push by the campaign to raise funds before the end of the month.
Sherman, who is seeking the presidential nomination of the Green Party of the United States and has already secured the nomination of the unaffiliated Green Party of Alaska, first announced the event earlier this week. The event, which the campaign has called a “TikTokathon,” is open to the public and will give voters the opportunity to engage with and hear from Sherman. The event will go toward ballot access efforts, although it’s not specified which states the campaign is focusing on with the fundraiser.
“Don’t miss out! Our 24-hour TikTokathon starts tomorrow at 11 PM EST! Join us for an exciting event. Together, we can push for universal healthcare, guaranteed housing, and education for all. Let’s make a difference,” Sherman stated on Thursday.
Recent advertising for the event states that it will run from July 26 at 10 PM EST to July 27 at 10 PM EST, although Sherman has said several times it will not start until 11 PM. It is part of a broader ballot access fundraising effort by the campaign first announced at the beginning of the month. In addition to TikTok, the campaign adds that the event will also be cross-streamed on Twitch and YouTube.
