Kennedy Campaign Reportedly Tried to Contact Kamala Harris Campaign for Meeting

Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his campaign manager attempted to reach out to the campaign of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, with sources alleging that Kennedy sought to discuss the possibility of leaving the race in exchange for a cabinet position. However, Kennedy stated on Thursday that he has no plans to endorse Harris.

The Washington Post first reported on Wednesday that the Kennedy campaign had attempted to contact the Harris campaign, with sources familiar with the outreach claiming that Kennedy sought to discuss stepping down in exchange for a cabinet role in a potential Harris administration. Harris and her campaign advisors have reportedly shown no interest in the proposal or in meeting with Kennedy’s team.

In addition to the Washington Post, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, Kennedy’s campaign manager, confirmed to ABC News that she and Kennedy reached out to the Harris campaign but have not received a response. Fox Kennedy did not specify whether the communication was related to a potential endorsement by Kennedy; however, she did not dispute the details of the Washington Post article.

Kennedy has stated that he is not dropping out of the race and is continuing his presidential campaign. On Thursday morning, he posted on X, “I have no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for President. I do have a plan to defeat her.” However, Kennedy also told the Washington Post that he hoped Harris would reconsider his offer for a meeting, adding that since the beginning of his campaign, he has emphasized that “people should be talking to each other,” and called her refusal to meet a “strategic mistake.”

Kennedy also previously met with Republican Donald Trump, allegedly for similar purposes. During that meeting, they discussed Kennedy dropping out of the race and endorsing Trump, as well as the possibility of Kennedy receiving a cabinet position in a Trump administration to oversee health and medical issues. Anonymous Trump campaign advisors cited by the Post claim they are still in contact with the Kennedy campaign.

No need for this faux “innocent”, “he started it” spiel, dungfly. I’m sure Jordan is perfectly well aware of the multiple times you have already tried to incite me on IPR for months now in various comment threads, with pathetic name-calling to which I have given no response.

Thanks to your overzealous linking, Jordan will now also be unfortunate enough to be aware your stalker-like obsession with me, bringing me up endlessly on IPR, BAN and what is supposed to pass for your “blog”, behind my back. Letting me live in your head rent-free, that is called.

I stand by what I said before multiple times: Harris replacing Trump has been a God-send for the Kennedy campaign. It has given him more traction than ever. Neither Trump or Harris want his endorsement. Nor is it in his interest to drop out of the race and betray everything he campaigned on. In fact, doing so would weaken his position as a potential member of their cabinets.

Back at you, Nuthead. (And, since I didn’t use a name the first time myself, Jordan, I’m just firing back on the politeness level.)

Beyond the facts that Brainworm Bobby tried to sell himself to Trump and Harris?

BAN reports that his failure to do so means they may drop out. Link onsite to a Twitter video with Nicole Shanahan. AND, Shanahan said that if they DO drop out, it’s specifically to help Trump. That would be a “quid pro quo.” https://ballot-access.org/2024/08/20/nicole-shanahan-says-kennedy-shanahan-ticket-is-considering-dropping-out

That’s a strange way to introduce yourself, dungfly, but I’m not surprised that you would also regurgitate pseudo-scientific lies like “anthropogenic climate change”. It fits your brand of fascism perfectly.

Ahh, a certain curmudgeonly wingnut is also a spouter of pseudoscience lies. “I known nun-thing, I see nun-thing.”

And, that other comment is wrong, too.

Brainworm Bobby tried, and failed, to get his 30 pieces of Cabinet silver from Trump (documented on these pages, nun-thing), then tried to get the same from Harris.

    “RFK sought the Democrat nomination.”
A wise move, given that his anthropogenic climate change hoax aligns with the Democratic voter base, who are thoroughly fed up with Biden-Harris ruining the economy and introducing medical fascism which Kennedy opposes.

“Then he sought the LP nomination.”
Not quite. He was willing to accept the nomination, which some LP members sought to give him. Again, perfectly sensible given the amount of ballot access and reach it would give him. Personally I wouldn’t want the LINO’s nomination, but then I’m a libertarian which Kennedy and the LP are not.

“Then he tried to trade an endorsement of Trump for a cabinet post.”
Fake news, as Trump would say. Barring a repeat of the 2020 large scale fraud, which could trigger civil war, Trump is winning hands down. I don’t like it, you don’t like it, but let’s try and be realistic, shall we. Trump doesn’t need Kennedy’s endorsement. He should absolutely give Kennedy a cabinet position – hopefully Secretary of Health and Human Services, not Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency – but Kennedy’s endorsement holds no value to him, and such an endorsement would only damage Kennedy’s reputation, and thereby also his standing as a member of Trump’s cabinet.

“Then he tried to trade an endorsement of Harris for a cabinet post.”
Misinformation, as Harris – or rather her handlers – would say. Without fraud, Harris is not going to win this election. Just like she and Biden lost the last one. Unlike Trump she does need Kennedy’s endorsement, but fortunately, like Trump, she doesn’t want it. And given that Harris is even further left of Kennedy than Trump is, such an endorsement would be even worse for Kennedy’s image.
Kennedy knows that Harris is going to lose the election, so he hasn’t the slightest incentive to engage in such self-harm. But even if she did cheat her way to victory again, a position on her cabinet would be worthless to Kennedy, because he could never achieve anything since they are opposed on almost everything. They are both anthropogenic climate change hoaxers, but they can’t even agree on the details of that, with Kennedy taking an anti-establishmentarian approach that does not suit Harris’ pay-masters making billions off of the climate scam.

    “Everybody said no thanks.”
    To buying into WaPo’s propaganda.

RFK sought the Democrat nomination. Then he sought the LP nomination. Then he tried to trade an endorsement of Trump for a cabinet post. Then he tried to trade an endorsement of Harris for a cabinet post. Everybody said no thanks.

    *quid pro quo

  8. Nuña August 15, 2024

Kennedy is no more seeking a quid quo pro from Harris than from Trump. They don’t need nor want his endorsement, and it would not be in his interest because it goes directly against everything he has campaigned on, and he wouldn’t be able to achieve anything in a Harris cabinet anyway. The claims he was seeking to strike a deal with Trump were ridiculous, and these claims are at least a silly. The Washington Post is just running interference for the incredibly unpopular Harris-Walz ticket like usual.
