Libertarian Party Launches Local DOGE Initiative

The Libertarian Party announced last week the launch of a new initiative aimed at implementing localized versions of the Department of Government Efficiency in municipal communities across the country.

“Calling all local elected officials, appointed committee members, and community activists: Are you looking for a new way to champion Liberty in your community? If so, we invite you to spearhead the charge to bring a Department of Government Efficiency to your local municipal government,” the party stated.

The initiative, dubbed the “Local DOGE Initiative,” is described by the party as a nationwide effort to empower local Libertarian officials and activists to reduce the size of their respective local governments. It draws inspiration from the same new federal department announced by President-elect Donald Trump last month.

While the Libertarian Party has not provided specific details about the initiative, it highlights Aron Lam, a Libertarian and Mayor of Keenesburg, Colorado, as an example of the program in action. The party notes that Lam has already begun efforts to establish a local DOGE in his community and promises further updates on implementation strategies, tactics, and other pertinent information as the initiative develops.

The Local DOGE Initiative is one of several projects unveiled by the Libertarian Party since last November’s general election. This month, the party also announced an Anti-Lawfare Initiative aimed at exposing instances of political abuse within the justice system. In addition, it rolled out its Run Locally Initiative to focus on municipal elections and established a Defend the Guard Committee last month.

Won’t National even bother to TRY not copying Trump on everything now?

It’s not a bureaucratic department or part of government. It’s an outside advisory panel. This was tried before, for example with the Grace Commission in the 1980s.

More legislation will make you free. More taxes will make you wealthy. More untested and unsafe gene-therapy masquerading as “vaccines” will make you healthy. More immigration will make your borders secure. More discrimination will make you more diverse, equitable and inclusive. Et cetera ad nauseam. So clearly, more bureaucracy will make the government more efficient…

Can we at least stop calling it DOGE? It’s not some cute shiba inu. The “of” isn’t even capitalized, so if anything it should abbreviated be DGE.

Because we all know that the best way to make government more efficient is to create a new bureaucratic department.
