Party for Socialism and Liberation to Co-Host Anti-NATO Rally and Assembly in Dayton

The Party for Socialism and Liberation, the ANSWER Coalition, and The People’s Forum will host a joint rally and assembly in Ohio later this month. The gathering is in response to the 2025 NATO Parliamentary Assembly meeting taking place that same week.

According to event details sent from the Party for Socialism and Liberation, the full event, titled “The People’s Assembly for Peace and Justice,” will take place in Dayton on May 25. Organizers plan to gather for a protest in Deeds Point MetroPark beginning at noon local time, followed by an assembly later in the day at St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Both events coincide with the latter half of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the interparliamentary body for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Delegates from member countries will be meeting in Dayton from May 22 to 26. The coalition is organizing in opposition to the assembly’s presence, calling for an end to “war, militarism, and corporate greed,” and aiming to develop a broader resistance movement against NATO.

“NATO and its members have brought nothing but death and destruction to its victims, including Yugoslavia, Libya, Afghanistan and Haiti,” the organizers state. “With NATO now continuing to escalate tensions in Ukraine and beyond, we must resist this unending drive for war.”

Transportation to the event is being arranged from cities across the country. Paid bus service is available from Akron and Cleveland, Ohio; New York City, New York; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Chicago, Illinois. Limited car caravans are also scheduled to depart from Cincinnati, Toledo, and Columbus in Ohio, as well as Louisville, Kentucky, and Indianapolis, Indiana.

Organizers are charging a fee to attend the assembly portion of the event, with reduced-cost options available for attendees in financial need. No fee is required to attend the outdoor rally. Additional information on costs and bus transportation is available here. Car caravan details are available through contacting the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
