Party Party of Rhode Island Launches Interactive Platform, Shares Plans to Expand

The Party Party of Rhode Island has announced the soft launch of its new interactive digital platform designed to engage state and national supporters. The group also says it is actively looking to expand beyond Rhode Island.

In a statement shared with Independent Political Report this past Friday, the party described the new platform, titled partyparty.social, as a hub for event announcements, community engagement, volunteer opportunities, and other content more exclusive to the party. The project was developed by a team of internal volunteers and is intended to serve both Rhode Island residents and Party Party supporters across the country.

“Politics doesn’t have to be dull or disconnected,” said Tony Jones, founder of the Party Party. “With partyparty.social, we’re creating a space where humor, community, and fresh ideas come together — empowering everyday people to get involved in meaningful ways.”

In addition to launching the platform, the party reports that it is in active discussions with potential candidates for the 2026 election cycle, though no specific names or races have been announced. It also shared that efforts are currently underway to establish an affiliate chapter in Arizona.

The original Party Party was founded in 2016 by entertainer Andrew W.K. as a movement centered around partying as a metaphor for positive thinking and community-building. The Rhode Island chapter has previously cited W.K.’s mission as its inspiration.

The state party has fielded several candidates since then, including Jones, who ran in a nonpartisan race for the Narragansett Town Council during the 2024 election cycle. That same year, the party also ran a presidential ticket featuring Robby Wells and Jones. The ticket appeared only on the Rhode Island ballot and received 359 votes statewide.

Excellent. I am tired of RI party politics ( no pun intended). I’ll be watching and supporting this. As for those who don’t think anything can change, it won’t for them.

Rhode Island hasn’t had a real party since the America’s Cup left Newport.
