The Vermont Progressive Party is holding a series of caucuses across the state this month as part of its 2025 reorganization process. According to details, 50 total events are planned in communities statewide before the end of September.
The party recently published a full list of scheduled meetings on its website and is inviting interested members to directly contact the state party. The caucuses fulfill state law Title 17, Chapter 45, Section 2301 requiring major parties to reorganize at the town level every two years.
Under party bylaws, the process includes electing local officers, forming town committees, and updating membership rolls. Town committees then elect delegates to county committees, which in turn determine the composition of the State Committee. Delegate allocation is based on votes cast for the party’s most recent statewide candidates.
Alongside reorganization, the Vermont Progressive Party is recruiting candidates for local and state office. On September 12, the party shared on social media that it seeks individuals interested in running for select board, school board, or the state legislature.
The party is also continuing its search for a new Executive Director following the July 12 departure of Josh Wronski, who stepped down to accept a position with the Vermont State Employees’ Association. The position remains unfilled as of the September caucuses.
