The Libertarian Party of Florida is seeking theme submissions for its 2026 state convention, taking place next February in Clearwater, and is again using the theme contest as an early fundraiser for the event.
In a November 21 message to supporters, the party announced that its Convention Committee has set the official dates for February 20–21 at Aspirations Winery, a local winery and craft beverage venue. The committee said the Friday portion of the event will focus on registration and socializing, while Saturday will host the annual business meeting. Additional details, including speakers and a formal schedule, will be released in the coming weeks.
The Convention Committee is currently working to secure a nearby hotel for attendees and is accepting early vendor and sponsorship registrations. It also announced plans to bring back its Convention Magazine, which will offer advertising space for county affiliates and local businesses. Additional details are available through the convention website.
Until then, the party is soliciting member input on this year’s convention theme. As in past years, both theme submissions and votes require a minimum $25 donation. The committee asked contributors to avoid the use of individuals’ names, copyrighted images, profanity, or submissions in poor taste, and stated it may reject entries that do not follow those rules.
The party reports it has received three submissions to date. As of Friday morning, they include Freedom Uncorked! with $50, Aspirations of Liberty with $30, and Hands Off My Booty! with $25. The Convention Committee has not set a final date to submit theme ideas.
During the planning period for the 2025 annual convention, the party reported raising $1,500 through its theme contest, with members choosing “This is MY Swamp!” According to details released at the time, the theme was submitted by former members Josh Hlavka and Tim Crosby Jr., who alone raised more than $1,000 in support of their idea.
