The Reform Party of the United States has begun the process of identifying a presidential nominee for the 2028 election cycle, according to a statement shared on social media over the weekend.
In the post, the party said its Executive Committee unanimously approved a motion tasking its Membership Committee with vetting all prospective candidates. No additional details were provided regarding timelines, criteria, or whether any individuals have formally expressed interest in seeking the nomination.
The party’s Membership Committee meets publicly by remote session on the third Tuesday of each month and has recently made several endorsements in races later this year. Its most recent meeting also addressed additional endorsements and efforts to establish new state affiliates.
The party was most recently active in the 2024 presidential cycle, when it nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a May 23 meeting it later regarded as its national convention. Around that time, the party was also working with supporters in Florida to reestablish ballot access and place Kennedy on its line in the state.
However, before the general election, Kennedy announced he was suspending his campaign and endorsing Donald Trump. While he remained on the ballot in some states, specifically those where he said his presence would not affect the outcome, he withdrew from all others, including Florida.
The Reform Party did not rescind its general support. In a later statement examining the results of the 2024 election cycle, the party praised Kennedy’s selection as Secretary of Health and Human Services as a win for the organization and said his vote total in the states where he remained on the ballot marked “the largest vote total since Ross Perot ran on our line in 1996.”
The party’s benchmark remains the 1996 presidential election, when Ross Perot ran as its nominee. Perot received 8,085,402 votes, or 8.4% of the national total.

They should ask Krist Novoselic to run, since their whole platform and shtick is “Hey remember us from the 1990s” anyway
Once they’ve identified the individual they want what means of coercion are they willing to employ to make that person run?
