CT is right. A far left ticket on its own cannot win in the USA. The USA has no history of far left political victory.
It does have a rich progressive history which was mostly via the REPUBLICAN party-epitomized by Teddy Roosevelt.

Michael, I do think it’s time to move on. I say that with absolutely no animosity toward you or John Murphy or anyone else. It’s been 6 years and at this point Ralph Nader isn’t relevant to the Greens in the way he once was – perhaps that is precisely because of what happened, but that battle has been fought. There are new people, like me, coming into the party for new reasons.
Phil made a good point about internal struggles and definitions vs. external actions. Again, perhaps it is in his best interest to do so within the context of the Greens’ internal struggles, but he is still right. Our actions in external efforts like organizing and electing candidates are much more important than how we define ourselves…and now people like Phil and Hugh Giordano and the Maine Greens and others are leading the way on that. They’re doing the work of making the Greens viable, and I respect that, and I’m willing to follow them.
Something should be done about thsi Robert E. Milnes; he’s getting annoying.
People keep making fun of Milnes, but Kavlan is really much more insane, thinking that a far left ticket can actually win in this country. I would like the left to ally with the Christian Right, under the Democratic Party. Milnes wants PLAS. Either is much more plausible than Kavlan’s idiotic Minnesota campaign.

In Illinois and Alabama the GP are doing very well. I applaud that. even though I have serious issues with Mr Huckleberry and the political place that he comes from (Phil and I tangled a lot as National GP Delegates as did John Murphy).
So the GP are doing well there while soooo many other places it is dying out.
It is and has been my position that this was a very direct concequence of Greens allowing Nader supporters to be IMHO deliberately disenfranchised.
That, more even then anything, allowing it to happen is what killed the National GP.
Oh well, we have moved on.

Sorry but Mr Huckleberry is stating things that may be his opinion on the Nader supporters that are simply not true.
Specifically his contention that the Nader supporters were more concerned about nader than in building the structure of the party.
That is simply, patently false. In fact many of us had the very direct concern that disenfranchising Nader supporters would potentially destroy it.
Because those Nader supporters and those McKinney supporters (like myself) who seen them as allies and not enemies would leave the GP.
Which we have. Including your friend John Murphy.
That loss of volunteers and people willing to donate to the GP is why the National GP are collapsing.
But Mr Huckleberry was not asked that question.
