The latest poll numbers are so good I wanted to let you know immediately. The most recent Rasmussen poll now has us closing the gap on Hickenlooper to 8 points. This is unbelievable news!
A recent poll puts Maes down to 13%. The discussion, whose location I have misplaced, also notes that Hickenlooper is stuck at 47% of the vote, which shows how far Maes has to collapse in order for Tancredo to win. If Maes is at 4% or s0 (there is a fine Libertarian in the race) Tancredo can win.
In addition, Tancredo will assuredly pass the 10% mark needed to make Constitution a major party in Colorado.
Just curious, do people that read this site root for third parties all the time, in every situation despite their platform. I consider myself a third party supporter and I too believe that the current system sucks. But I would never root for Tancredo simply because he no longer has a D or an R after his name.
People at this site have a variety of opinions.
Personally, I don’t root for Tancredo because I disagree with him on what I consider important issues, although he is better than Hickenlooper on some other issues and does promote the general relevance of non-D/R-oids.

Ya see, Gene just makes the excellent point that the Constitution Party knows where to put people where they will do the most good! 🙂

What a crazy law!
If the Republican Party gets under 10% for Governor, the state’s current campaign finance contribution limits will mean that people can give twice as much money to a Constitution Party nominee for state office than to most Republican nominees for state office. That discriminatory campaign finance case is now pending in US District Court, in a case brought by supporters of the independent state legislator, Kathleen Curry.
At least as Governor, Tancredo won’t be able to vote for bank bail-0uts or The Patriot Act.
This is awesome, even if Tancredo doesn’t actually win, I can see him getting second place and its a big boost of publicity for us in the first place!
I root for third parties to be given equal treatment.
I root for third parties. Though I may be against certain parties, specifically, I believe that the current two-party system needs to be taken down.
In terms of Tancredo. Yes, he is probably only doing well because he became well known in the Republican party, but it is still a win for third parties. Take whatever win you can get, imo.

Definitely within striking distance with just under 4 weeks remaining until the election. As third party advocates know, the vote total for third parties goes down (compared to polling data) on election day. The difference in this scenerio is that the Republican Party IS the third party, hence good news for the Constitution Party!!
