NV IAP Member Jackie Berg Remains in Office Based on High Card Draw

Apparently that’s how they settle ties in Nevada. The Las Vegas Sun has the story.

An eight of hearts in a card draw has given Eureka County Clerk-Treasurer Jackie Berg another four years in office.

Berg, a member of the Independent American Party, and Carrie Wright, who formerly worked in the clerk-treasurer’s office, both polled 373 votes in the November election.

So the election was decided by a draw of the cards.

    Because you are one.

And you mis-spelled my name again, hahaha!

  2. ——- but remember, Cody Banks considers me a ‘Maroon’!

Is prime mover of the universe, or at least the LDS God, or at least a dictionary, at the side of Space Cadet Captain Coty Banks Quirk?

Ah, IPR, all religion all the time. Thx Quirk!

Thanks James. I don’t agree with the way Jackie Berg got into office either

= She tried to sue the stop the card drawing, but God was on her side all along.

Don, I am aware that Jesus wasn’t really born on December 25. But it’s still an important holiday.

Thanks James. I don’t agree with the way Jackie Berg got into office either, but she still could have good potential as a team member. And I hope we can continue to work with the Green-Pot-Christ Party.

  5. Saturnalia was a hedonistic time, when food and drink were plentiful and the normal Roman social order was turned upside down.

In the early years of Christianity, Easter was the main holiday; the birth of Jesus was not celebrated.

[Only] In the fourth century, church officials decided to institute the birth of Jesus as a holiday.

the Bible does not mention date for his birth (a fact Puritans later pointed out in order to deny the legitimacy of the celebration).

Although some evidence suggests that his birth may have occurred in the spring (why would shepherds be herding in the middle of winter?), Pope Julius I chose December 25.

It is commonly believed that the church chose this date in an effort to adopt and absorb the traditions of the pagan Saturnalia festival.

[Lake: better an awk ward truth than a soothing lie! Ya wanna be stroked and coddled? Try the Democans and the Republicrats!]

And congratulations to Jackie Berg, I suppose. She should join the all-party system.

Lake, be prepared to acknowledge that Red Phillips, Don Grundman and I are going to bring religion on this site. Religion and politics are together; get over it. Merry Christmas, Io Saturnalia, and please pray for the pope and Barack Obama, amen.
