Ed Coleman is currently one of the highest profile Libertarian Party office holders in the United States. He is a city councilman for Indianapolis, Indiana. He switched from the Republican Party to the Libertarian Party in 2007 and is now seeking re-election as a member of his new party.
On May 14, the Libertarian Party of Indianapolis (which is co-terminous with Marion County) held its nominating convention. Ed Coleman was nominated for city council, 24th district. He is an incumbent who was elected in 2007 as a Republican. Then, in 2008, he had announced that he had joined the Libertarian Party.
Thanks to Richard Winger for the news. Winger claims that his re-election campaign will be a difficult one because of the propensity for Indianapolis voters to use the straight-ticket device.

I hope that Libertarians from around the country donate to this guy’s campaign.
