Jill Stein has been wracking up win after win in the Green Party primaries and caucuses. Now, she has won over 50% of the total number of national convention delegates, meaning she is the presumptive nominee. She has won more than 75% of the delegates apportioned thus far, Roseanne Barr is next with 14% of the delegates awarded thus far. Now, the Stein campaign is soliciting supporters for Vice Presidential candidate input.
“As I celebrate my birthday today with supporters in the Bay Area, my campaign has launched the first step in our search for a vice presidential running mate. We ask for people’s guidance at our website at jillstein.org/vice_president,” said Dr. Stein.
The momentum of the campaign is building as Dr. Stein is now 18 for 18 in the Green Party state primaries, conventions and caucuses.
Dr. Stein is proposing a Green New Deal for America that, in her words: “is an emergency program that will create 25 million jobs, end unemployment, and transition our country to a green economy. It will guarantee public higher education and Medicare for all. It will break up the big banks. And it will end corporate domination of elections.”

She is at 105.5 which is over 50% of 200.5, and 200.5 is 50% of 401, the total number of “delegates” (including proxies). So she is half way to 200.5, the total number needed to win – not halfway to 401 the total number of votes available.
However she does have over 75% of delegates allocated so far and has won in every state where they have voted so far — and in all but one one of those she got over 75%.

There are 401 votes and it takes 200.5 to clinch – Stein is halfway to the number to clinch, not halfway to 401.

But, I suspect any delegate COULD change his mind. But in the Green Party which is so focused upon democracy, it seems like it’d not be well taken.
They mostly won’t even be there at all, just proxy votes.
Are all of those delegates bound to vote for Stein at the convention? Could they change their mind at the convention and vote for Barr instead?
Stein crossed the threshold this weekend
In Maryland, the Green Party party held a primary on Saturday to allocate six delegates to the national convention. The result: 5 went for Jill Stein and 1 for Roseanne Barr.
Delaware’s Green Party convention chose four delegates, pledging all four of them to Stein.
