Denver just narrowly missed the top 100.

  2. Wes Benedict November 15, 2012

I believe Denver was not in the top 100 based on the 2010 census numbers. The list above is based on 2010 census. If Wikipedia changes their list, I’ll consider changing this one on IPR to match.

  3. Andy November 15, 2012

According to wikipedia, Denver has 619,698 people. It is its own county, so it seems to me that it ought to be listed.

In my Chicago precinct, GJ finished with 2.99%.

That was Wibaux County, MT. He ended up besting Obama 18% to 4%

Stronger case for Gj for Congress 14

Nicholas @2 @3, Denver’s core city/county 2010 population of 600,138 is probably not enough to make the list of 100 largest counties, even though the entire Denver-Aurora-Boulder metropolitan area ranks around 22 in top TV markets.

I was surprised to learn earlier this year that El Paso county, home of Colorado Springs, is the largest in Colorado by population, larger than Denver city/county.

Targeted precincts is definitely the way to go!

    Thanks Wes for this info.

NOW! How many of these were “poll watched” to the final count ? If you think the Ds and Rs are above CHEATING you are a gullible soul. I hope someday that alternative Parties are able to WATCH the ten to 15 largest precincts in the 15 to 20 largest counties in each state. I think it would result in some shocking results.

Also, I should say that it wasn’t just me that targeted precincts. A generous donor and a helpful SuperPAC helped out.

That should read “…where GJ got…..

  11. Matt Cholko November 14, 2012

I’m in Fairfax County, VA, when GJ got .81% of the vote. However, in the precincts that I targeted this year, and those that have been targeted by the LP and LP candidates in recent years, vote totals were measurably better. Without breaking out a calculator, I’d say that the targeted precincts saw an average of about 1.25%. Now, that doesn’t seem like much, but it is about 50% higher than the county-wide average.

Where was that one Po-dunk county on Montana where Johnson beat Obama?

  13. Nicholas Sarwark November 14, 2012

Gary Johnson got 1.31% of the vote in Denver, putting it right under Baltimore.

  14. Nicholas Sarwark November 14, 2012

Denver appears to be missing, I guess because it has combined city/county government.

There’s a joke about the New York Yankees in here somewhere.
