Gallagher: Ron Paul, Bob Barr ‘twins’

Marc Gallagher, founder and editor of Liberty Maven, admits that Bob Barr has a “checkered past,” but says “[o]n the issues in 2008 Bob Barr and Ron Paul are twins. Not many will argue that.”

Furthermore, he dismisses Chuck Baldwin and says Bob Barr is the “next best thing” to Ron Paul, saying of Baldwin:

I have concerns on Baldwin going the Mike Huckabee route and pushing for a Constitutional amendment or worse, some kind of executive order to ban abortion. The simple fact is that issues of abortion should be left up to the states, as Ron Paul has said time and time again.

    I don’t know if he’s weak on the war or strong on the war, but he’s WRONG on foreign policy, period. He’s also weak/strong (however you want to look at it) on federal power — meaning, he wants more than the Constitution gives him — and he’s dumb on the Constitution himself.

    Bob Barr supports the FairTax, a lax immigration policy, and is weak on the War.

    They are not twins because Barr is weak on bringing the troops home. Baldwin is closer to Paul than Barr on foreign policy.
