United Independents Launches Briefing Series with Plans for Unified Independent Congressional Slate

United Independents, the advocacy organization behind the annual Independent National Convention, is launching a weekly email briefing outlining its upcoming activities, including plans to unite several third parties behind a slate of congressional candidates.

“Starting today, we’re launching a weekly email briefing to keep our growing community informed about the developments of the United Independent Movement—a focused initiative within the U.S. Independent Political Sector designed to unite independent stakeholders, organizations, organizers, and candidates to increase political influence, election success, and meaningful reform,” wrote the organization in an email last Thursday.

The briefings will include regular updates and engagement opportunities. Upcoming content in the next release will feature the relaunch of the group’s social media program, highlights from the most recent Independent National Convention, and details on how to join a new pilot membership initiative under development.

United Independents also announced the launch of Operation Phoenix, an effort to elect a slate of independent candidates to Congress during the 2026 election cycle to create the first Independent House Caucus. According to the group, the initiative aims to unite several pre-existing political parties with the United Independents, including the Forward Party, Libertarian Party, and Green Party, in a collective campaign effort.

“With a highly strategic focus on key districts and candidates, and a compelling national narrative, we aim to make history and prove that we’re ready to move beyond the two-party system,” the email stated about the initiative.

United Independents is a national organization focused on electing independents to public office and promoting collaboration among like-minded activists. The group has hosted the Independent National Convention since its founding in 2020, with its most recent convention held this year in Colorado.

“According to the group, the initiative aims to unite several pre-existing political parties, including the Forward Party, Libertarian Party, and Green Party, along with United Independents itself, in a collective campaign effort.”

IMO, it would be easier to herd cats than get these guys to support a common program. They might possibly agree on the NEED for electoral reform (without mentioning specifics), and not much else.

The Forward Party and Green Party being mentioned explicitly, but not No Labels, Alliance Party, Reform Party, Prohibition Party, Constitution Party, American Independent Party, etc. does not fill me with confidence regarding what Libertarians they are hoping to draw in. On the bright side, if they do end up trying to field a bunch of LINOs, those can leave the LP and join this pan-socialist-sounding collective instead.
