American Capitalist Party Names Michael Liebowitz as Vice Chair

The American Capitalist Party has named author Michael Liebowitz as its new Vice Chair. According to the party, Liebowitz was selected by unanimous support during its February meeting.

“Please join us in welcoming our new Vice Chairman, Michael Liebowitz! With unanimous nomination and vote after the motion was presented by our Chairman, Mark Pellegrino, at February’s monthly meeting, Michael Liebowitz joins the Executive Board of Directors as Vice Chairman,” the party stated in its March newsletter. “We are excited to welcome him aboard and know that he will be a strong voice of reason and leadership within the party.”

According to information provided by the party, Liebowitz is an objectivist and author who previously served as a spokesperson for the Libertarian Party of Connecticut. He hosts The Rational Egoist podcast, where he discusses the philosophy of rational egoism and its applications to daily life. He appears to be the American Capitalist Party’s first official Vice Chair since its formal organization this year.

The American Capitalist Party made its debut this past February at LibertyCon International 2025. The organization was co-founded by actor Mark Pellegrino, who also serves as Chair, and investor Joe Sanders. It is also advised by novelist and philosopher Andrew Bernstein. According to a video produced by Pellegrino at LibertyCon International, the party had been in development for some time with an established platform but was formally organized more recently.

Nuña: I would be very surprised if they were related. From what I’ve learned about the American Capitalist Party, it’s an effort that has been in the works for a while and predates John Morgan’s plans.

    Thanks you, Jordan!

I really did – against my better judgment, as I am setting myself up for disappointment – start feeling hyped up about this.

You wouldn’t happen to be able to put my mind at ease that American Capitalist Party has nothing to do with the “Capitalist Party” referenced by John Morgan in his Politico interview, would you?

I’m revisiting this because the American Capitalist Party held its monthly board meeting this past weekend, and the board’s agenda provides some insight into the direction they want to take the party.

Curious: They haven’t explicitly mentioned ballot access; however, the party is looking to attend more events similar to LibertyCon International—for example, the NH Liberty Forum. They look to be focusing more on outreach in the tabling sense.

Nuña: It looks like they’re using the .org address. In their monthly newsletter, they mentioned adding more information to their documents section, which only appears on that version of the site.

Are they on the ballot anywhere? Working on getting on the ballot anywhere? There are a lot of “political parties” which are actually websites/blogs/social media accounts – what signs of life if any indicate that this one is more than that?

A capitalist party with an objectivist, possibly rational egoist vice chair?! U+1F440 So, what’s the catch?

I’ve found two different websites for them: theamericancapitalistparty.com and americancapitalistparty.org . Which, if either, is the legitimate one?
