United States Transhumanist Party Endorses Candidates in Arizona, Wisconsin

The United States Transhumanist Party has endorsed two more candidates for the 2026 election cycle, backing campaigns in Wisconsin and Arizona and bringing the party’s 2026 slate to its largest in a single election cycle.

In a statement published April 22, the party said it is backing Pete Karas, a Green Party candidate for Secretary of State in Wisconsin, and Blase Henry, an independent candidate for Arizona’s 17th Legislative District. The addition of the two brings the Transhumanist Party to five active candidates for 2026.

Karas, who appeared before the party last month on its Virtual Enlightenment Salon, secured its endorsement following a member vote held between April 15 and April 19. According to results released by the party, 37 of 43 participating members supported the endorsement, with two opposed and four abstaining.

Karas is also running as part of an effort to build cross-party support among minor parties and independent candidates. He recently received backing from the United States Pirate Party, a partner organization of the Transhumanist Party in the All Hands for a Free Future coalition, which has worked to coordinate joint endorsements across the two organizations.

In comments following the vote, Karas thanked the party and said the endorsement reflects his campaign’s focus on building support outside the two-party system.

“Our goal is to empower voters to feel confident choosing third-party candidates and to advocate for legislation that removes the structural barriers holding minor parties back,” Karas added. “Together with the Transhumanist Party, we’re building the multi-party democracy Wisconsin deserves.”

The party’s second endorsement went to Henry, who is seeking one of two seats representing Arizona’s 17th Legislative District. While the party did not provide a vote total, it said it had been aware of Henry since the coalition between the two organizations was first launched and had more recently hosted him on its Virtual Enlightenment Salon, where he discussed his campaign priorities and accepted the party’s endorsement.

“Captain Blase Henry deserves our support for maintaining a principled, service-oriented approach to his candidacy rather than focusing solely on winning,” said Transhumanist Party Chair Gennady Stolyarov II. “The people of Arizona need his voice and his thoughtful approach to policy in order to understand that alternatives to the duopoly exist and that casting one’s vote for a candidate such as Blase Henry and engaging with his ideas in conversation are both realistic ways to improve the political discourse and the outcomes of the political process.”

Henry, who is active in state and national Pirate Party leadership, initially sought ballot access through petitioning but fell short of the required threshold, in part due to changes in Arizona’s election calendar following the signing of HB 2022. Despite the setback, he has continued his campaign as a write-in candidate.

The Transhumanist Party’s current slate also includes candidates in Ohio, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.
