Green National Committee Approves Young Ecosocialist Henry Pratt for Finance Committee

The Green National Committee has approved Young Ecosocialist Caucus member Henry Pratt to serve on the Green Party of the United States’ Finance Committee, making him the second person appointed to the committee by national delegates this year.

A ballot to appoint Pratt to the committee concluded Sunday, with delegates representing 31 state parties and accredited caucuses participating in the vote. Sixty-five votes were cast, with Pratt receiving 51 votes in support compared to 13 opposed and one abstention. Opposition was spread across several delegations but came largely from California, which was also the source of the lone abstention.

The Young Ecosocialist Caucus nominated Pratt last month. He is a member of the Green Party of New York and co-chair of the national party’s Bylaws, Rules, Policies, and Procedures Committee. In a biography included with his nomination, Pratt said he has experience managing campaign budgets exceeding $200,000 and negotiating with vendors, as well as working with payroll and nonprofit compliance.

Under Green Party rules, the Finance Committee monitors the national party’s finances and advises its Steering Committee on fiscal matters. It is also responsible for preparing a draft annual budget, recommending later revisions, coordinating with party staff and leadership, and helping ensure compliance with the party’s fiscal policies.

With his appointment approved, party officers will add Pratt to the Green Party’s internal Basecamp workspace and Finance Committee leadership will onboard him to the committee. His term will last three years, ending in 2029.

Pratt is the second person approved for the Finance Committee by the National Committee this year, following the appointment of Darryl! Moch of the D.C. Statehood Green Party in May by a 49–6 vote with two abstentions. He is also the second Young Ecosocialist named to the committee in recent years, after Cassiday Moriarity was selected in October 2025. Moriarity was later elected Green Party treasurer in July and now serves as one of the committee’s co-chairs.
