Frank MacKay makes news

Frank McKay, the state chairman of the Independence Party of New York, is getting some local press.

Those looking to keep open Suffolk’s John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Facility have found a powerful new ally.

Frank MacKay, chairman of the Suffolk, state and national Independence Party, has written a letter to local officials of his “strong support” for keeping the place open, saying his own mother, who is a short-term resident, has “received top-notch care” and that the facility is “a cut above” others across Long Island.

I thought he was chairman of the National Independence Party. Is he also associated with one ofthe wings of the Reform Party?

In New York, there is no such thing as the Reform Party. In NY, what used to be a part of the Reform Party is “The Independence Party”, and that is what Frank McKay was State Chair of for years.

Now, I believe he is also National Chair of “The Independence Party”. Which, I believe is now very separate from any remnants or what used to be the ideology of the Reform Party.

By the way, Frank McKay recently had a death in his family. So, if we are going to talk about him, I would say to be nice for at least a week more.
