According to Ballot Access News, Libertarian Party National Chairman Bill Redpath has submitted petitions with 16,000 signatures to run for U.S. Senate in Virgina. Ten thousand valid signatures are required to appear on the Virginia ballot.
Redpath will be vying for the open Senate seat against Republican Jim Gilmore, Democrat Mark Warner, and Independent-Green Glenda Gail Parker. Ms. Parker ran for Senate in 2006 and garnered 26,102 votes (1.1%).
On December 4, 2007, the “leadership PAC” of current Libertarian Party presidential nominee Bob Barr gave $1,000 to Republican Jim Gilmore. This, according to research by Last Free Voice.
UPDATE: According to Last Free Voice contributor Jeff Wartman, citing a comment on Third Party Watch, Barr’s PAC made the donation to Jim Gilmore prior to Bill Redpath’s entry to the race, and since then, the PAC has made a larger contribution to Mr. Redpath’s campaign.

Trying to counter bias with more bias only makes you look petty.
How is this story biased, Jeff?
Thank you for the update.
This is the reporting of facts. Mr. Redpath recently submitted signatures. That brought the matter up again. I don’t know how any sort of bias can be read into the article.

So is he going to go back and donate to all the other Libertarians running against Republicans that his PAC donated to?
Correction. Is he going to go back and donate a larger amount to all the other Libertarians running against NEO-CON’S that his PAC donated to?
