Libertarians win injunction in Ohio; Barr sues Oklahoma

Via Barr Blog. If the Ohio decision stands, it may also help other candidates in the future. Oklahoma is a particularly onerous case of blatant duopolistic ballot exclusion, as many here already know.

The Libertarian Party of Ohio won an
injunction is US District Court
that will allow the Barr/Root ticket on the ballot in the general election, as well as congressional and state assembly candidates.

The decision (which I will post later) reads:

[T]he Court GRANTS Plaintiffs’ Motion for Preliminary Injunction, and ORDERS that Plaintiffs be placed on the 2008 general election ballot for the state of Ohio, and that the individual plaintiffs be identified as candidates of the Libertarian Party of Ohio.

This Order shall be stayed for a period of ten (10) days, permitting the Defendant to pursue expedited review by the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

You can read the history on this case
over at Ballot Access News

This is big news, my friends. I should also note that our
lawsuit in Oklahoma
was filed yesterday as well.
