The American Solidarity Party has named Lori Solyom as its new communications director, originally announcing in late spring that she will help coordinate national messaging and work with its state chapters and candidates.
In a statement published May 17, the party said Solyom would work to amplify the party’s voice and increase its public presence. She will coordinate messaging for the National Committee while working with its “geographically diverse team of specialists.”
“We’re glad to have Lori working with us,” Jack Ternan, chair of the American Solidarity Party’s National Committee, said in the statement. “In addition to implementing communications strategy across the party’s multiple communications channels, she’ll be working with our American Solidarity state chapters and candidates.”
The party said Solyom is based in the Chicago area and will draw on her experience in media, politics, and nonprofits. Her public LinkedIn also identifies her as a publicist with TC Public Relations, where she has worked since 2011 on publicity for social action, legal, and faith-based initiatives. She also lists current communications work with Lutheran Women in Mission’s Northern Illinois District, prior development work with Voice of Care, and lengthy freelance experience in radio, television, writing, publicity, and media production.
“I’m excited to come on board with the American Solidarity Party,” Solyom said. “I believe that America’s traditional two-party system is not providing the solutions that many voters are desperately seeking.”
Solyom added that, as the country celebrates its upcoming 250th anniversary, Americans should reflect on the solidarity expressed in the Declaration of Independence. “Our nation has fought too hard to accept the status quo,” she said.
